We apologize for the delay in the announcement for the winners of the fourth Trilogy.hk Rewards, due to the gigantic database we recorded just before the reset. The 4th Trilogy.hk Rewards is special because we’re giving away another six keys to randomly selected players, in addition to the usual six we reward players for their performance and their support.

If the winners under the don’t respond within one week of first attempt to contact, prizes will be given to the runner-ups for winners under the “best-performing” or “most loyal” categories, and will be given to other randomly selected player for the winners under the “random” category.

We cannot thank our players enough for their continued support. We have given away 30 keys in the past 14 months, and it really showed how much dedication our players have to Trilogy.hk servers. We are immensely grateful for that. We are concluding Trilogy.hk Rewards, but we are not stopping giving away things. Stay tuned for surprises and giveaways in the future – you might just win something bigger than keys.

In the beginning of 2013 we promised that a “sea change” was coming to Trilogy.hk. Due to various reasons we have not been able to deliver all the changes to the servers as well as Trilogy.hk as a whole, but be assured that development is underway. We do not have a concrete timeframe when these features are going to be rolled out yet, but you will absolutely be pleased with the outcome. There is a lot to look forward to in 2014.

Trilogy.hk servers will be relocated between October 24 and 26. During this time, all game servers will be shut down to allow us to reconfigure the game servers and perform final testing. Your statistical data will remain intact. The website will remain functional.

We screwed up big time.

We failed to retrieve the winners of our fourth Trilogy.hk Rewards, because the database had been reset before our responsible admin could select the winners. We attempted to revert to a database backup before the reset but it turned out the backup was half a year old, far beyond the acceptable time range.

As a result, we are unable to select the winners who performed the best, nor could we select six players randomly.

We apologize profusely for the incident and understand that some of you may feel betrayed. We also know that you have lost some trust in us.

In hopes of preventing similar incidents in the future, we are going to undertake these actions:

1. Database backups will be performed daily from now on.
2. We will strengthen our communications between admins and winners will be selected before statistics are reset on the next giveaway.
3. An extra database backup will be made before the reset.

Since we are unable to give away the keys right now, as selecting anyone would be unfair to anyone who had played before the last statistic reset, we will be deferring the fourth Trilogy.hk Rewards, as well as the next statistic reset until December 25, 2013. The extra time will allow you to compete your way to the top and match your previous results more closely. The 12 keys, as promised, will be given away to six best players and six random players on that date.

We apologize once again for the significant inconvenience, and we hope we will win your trust back through our service. Thank you for your continued support.

At Trilogy, we always strive to make the best servers possible for our players. In an effort to bring about a more streamlined and refined experience, we are going to introduce a slew of changes to Trilogy that will enable you to enjoy the servers like never before, and they include:

1. New Server Lineup

Effective immediately, the GoldDustGravelBasin will be replaced by a new server called Essentials, running the most popular map of selected map types.

2. Scrim Server Booking Assistant

You will be able to book the scrim server without finding an online admin right from Trilogy’s website. It’s faster, easier and much simpler.

3. New design

We will be updating Trilogy to deliver unified design aesthetics across the board, you will also be able to participate in discussions to help improve Trilogy.

4. QuickStab, Trilogy Area-51

We will let you know what they are when they are released.

We hope you love the changes as much as we do.

Due to unknown reasons, the PSU of our server burnt out. Luckily we switched it off immediately and therefore the other electronic components are not affected. However, the PSU is beyond repair and needs replacement. We will get one as soon as possible. In the meantime, we hope that you can still enjoy Team Fortress 2 in other servers.

Yet, we’ve receive more reports from players concerning the prevalent activities of hackers on our servers. In a bid to keep these pesky hackers away from our servers as soon as possible, we are here to introduce…

MODERATORS

The moderators, as known as mods, are part of the Trilogy team. Handpicked and carefully assessed by the Admins, these elite mods are responsible for maintaining law and order in the servers. Their identity will be hidden, so you’ll have no idea whether you are playing with them. But guys, I assure you, the mods will act as ordinary players if you are…. Well, ordinary. However, if someone ever dare to put a finger across the line, then the mods will take action immediately, without you even noticing.

With the introducing of mods, we sincerely hope that players can enjoy themselves in our server without the presence of mischievous players.

In case you haven’t noticed, the rankings have been reset on 14th July. The next reset is scheduled to be conducted on 14th October 2012.

You might be wondering why we reset the statistics regularly. The reason is that we want the statistics to be as accurate as possible and fair, so that players have a fair chance to compete their way to the top.

We also want to reward players for their unremitting support for Trilogy, so we hereby annuonce…

Trilogy.hk Rewards

On each statistics reset, we will select the top THREE players and THREE players with the most playtime since the last reset and they will be awarded a Mann Co. Supply Crate Key.

RULES

• This program is only open to players residing in the Asia continent who have played at least once on any of the public Trilogy.hk servers, excluding the Events & Scrim server and the Summer Heat Escape server since the last reset. These players are automatically enrolled.
• Admins of public Trilogy.hk servers, except those of the Events & Scrim server and the Summer Heat Escape server, should not be part of the program.
• Players may get multiple keys for being both one of the best performing players and one of the players with the highest playtime.
• Idle time does not count towards playtime.
• Player performance is measured with HLStatsX points, which can be viewed at http://www.trilogy.hk/rankings/hlstats.php?mode=players&game=tf&sort=skill&sortorder=desc.
• Player playtime is measured using HLStatsX automatically, which can be viewed at http://www.trilogy.hk/rankings/hlstats.php?mode=players&game=tf&sort=connection_time&sortorder=desc.
• Players who have been banned are not eligible for the program.
• If a winning player cannot be reached within 7 days of the reset, the player is disqualified and the next winning player is chosen.

On July 14, 2012, the server statistics will be reset. Your ranks, kill counts and points will be restored to default. This gives every player a fair chance to work on their ranks. The next reset after that is scheduled to be conducted on October 14, 2012.
